Love is roomy...

Love can change its shape, be known by different names. Love is elastic. ~Abigail Thomas

I have photographed this family since the girl in the rainbow dress with the rainbow heart was the one in her beautiful mama's tummy. Now she's almost 3-years-old and set to welcome a baby sib in a few short weeks. This bunch is about as connected as a family can get. It's a joy watching them love one another.

I am typically against planning around seasonal happenings for photos but I have always loved shooting pregnant women with the spring blossoms. I love the symbolism as much as the beauty. This year, I was obnoxious in my adoration for the blooms. I couldn't go for a regular dog walk without pointing out how every tree made every house look amazing. It was right that nature took them away from me before I lost my relationship and my mind.

These images will be the first in this family's second bi-monthly Don't Blink Project(TM) - a series of shoots in baby's first year documenting just how fast they grow and change. I'm looking forward to sharing more of this family with you over the next 14 months!

Giant thanks to my forever bestie Mary Andrews for allowing the very last minute use of her alley and backyard for these images. She has impeccable taste, which you can see more of at Hill & Co.
