kendra and mark eloped a year ago, marrying themselves with nary a witness and zero fuss. for their first anniversary, they threw a party for their friends and extended families to meet, eat and get their groove on. i spent the day with them in what turned into a tour of denver institutions. we started with getting ready at the brown palace hotel, where kendra and mark spent their wedding night last year, moved to cheeseman park, where they hitched themselves, and ending at the lobby, a rad, out-of-the-box bar/restaurant and event space. the couple exchanged rings in a short ceremony performed by a judge they both worked for when they met. it was all great fun, totally relaxed and a joy to be a part of. happy anniversary you two!
